Sale of surplus materiel from the Swedish Armed Forces

Tasks and objectives

FXM performs, on behalf of the Armed Forces, sales of surplus stock. The Armed Forces HQ decides in each case of sales.

Business

The ongoing realignment of the Armed Forces means that the materiel become redundant and need to be phased out. The Armed Forces (www.mil.se) makes the decision on that in primarily transfer stock to:

  • Voluntary defence organizations
  • Humanitarian operations
  • Military security promotion cooperation on materiel
  • To strengthen society at the severe strains in peace (including rescue services,etc)
  • Other governmental agencies

Sales are always on commercial foundations and mainly through:

  • Intergovernmental agreements
  • Repurchase by primary manufacturer
  • Competition on the open market

Sales in competition on the open market

The main part of these sales will be carried out on commission where both physical persons or legal persons could be buyers. Current link to the commission agent will be published on this website.

Sales could also be carried out directly by FXM. These will be presented under ”Ongoing sales” or ”Previous sales”.

Stock is sold only to operators who meet the following requirements:

  • Have a solid financial position
  • Can demonstrate experience of managing the corresponding volumes of stock
  • Will present an acceptable plan for how the transaction will be carried out
  • Can present good references
  • Can offer a good price.

Neither weapons nor ammunition are sold on the open market.
